As a member of the ATC ("air cadets") you can learn to fly an aircraft or glider. Air cadets can also even fly as a passenger in an RAF Chinook helicopter, Typhoon jet or other RAF operational aircraft.

Air cadets participate in rifle shooting plus take part in shooting competitions.

There is also adventure training where air cadets can enjoy kayaking, camping, hill walking, caving, mountain biking, winter sports plus many more fun activities. Parachuting is another exhilarating sport that Air Cadets can get involved in. Nothing is compulsory and all are supervised by qualified trainers.

In addition as a member of the ATC (Air Training Corps - "air cadets") you can secure BTEC qualifications. Air cadets also have the opportunity to gain Duke of Edinburgh awards (Bronze, Silver and Gold).

These are just some of the many activities in the air cadets. Look around this site to see what else the Air Training Corps ("air cadets") can offer you and also go to our forum to see the discussions and fun there.

Whatever your nationality, background or ability, whether you're male or female, if you're between 13 and 17 years old you can join us in the air cadets.
